I had the privilege of working with Hugh Flanagan as an Architectural Technologist. MRO produce high quality homes, the level of design that was included in the project I worked on surpassed my expectations. Our first project together was a huge challenge, and on an exceedingly tight timeline, and they did an incredible job of delivering this.
After a dreadful experience with a previous builder (a bathroom refurb that took 4 months, during which time a loo was the only facility available, and I relied very much on the hospitality of friends!), I delayed 2 years before considering my flat refurb and choosing to work with MRO.MRO were incredibly supportive in terms of advising, planning and eventually executing the refurb of my whole flat.
Three years ago we had a serious flood in the basement of our house. We got in touch with HF and he immediately swung into action, bringing in the appropriate professionals to deal with the water ingress, fitting a new membrane system and pump, reroute pipes and electrics, repair and refit a staircase, remove flooring and replace along with all associated work. The job took more than two months to complete but Hugh and his team were fast, efficient and about as affable, pleasant and polite as having workmen in your house can be. Inevitably, following major works, there are the inevitable snagging items but again, MRO were quick to address these.
Hugh and the entire MRO team have been an incredible resource and partner to us - they managed the renovation and redecoration of our family flat in W11 in 2021-22. I was very impressed with their attention to detail, quality of materials used, openness to feedback, ability to iterate on the go and transparency with respect to costs. I have worked alongside Hugh Flanagan on a couple of projects whilst working in the capacity of contractors quantity surveyor. I found Hugh a pleasure to work with, I was impressed by his knowledge of general construction techniques and high-end finishes.
